Sandy Turner, CPA CMA CFM
CEO and Founder
 
Sandy founded Cambra Partners in 1994, to provide strategic and mission critical leadership to businesses managing their transition and growth.
 
Sandy has 27 years of experience committed to providing exceptional results and is recognized as a strategic and visionary leader. 
  
She dedicates much of her career to community issues where she applies her leadership, board and business expertise. She has served in many board roles, and currently serves on the Fairview System audit committee, the Fairview Southdale Care system board and chairs the Quality Committee, and is a member of the Goodwill Easter Seals board where she chairs the Audit Committee.
 
 
Sandy is a founding member of the Upper Midwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association, and the US Federal (University of Minnesota Federal) Credit Union. She has served on the national board of Goodwill Industries International where she established the first audit committee and served as chair providing important leadership as they strengthened their operating environment and instituted relevant Sarbanes-Oxley provisions.
 
 
Sandy began her professional career with Deloitte, working with international public clients in technology, construction, railroads and manufacturing. She holds an active CPA certificate, and has also attained the CMA and CFM designations. She is a private pilot and holds a real estate broker’s license.  
 

Experience 

 

Sandy has served as the senior financial executive with many large and medium sized organizations.  Service with these organizations has included complex contract negotiations, acquisition and divestiture activities, debt negotiations and restructuring, bankruptcy reorganizations.  She has counseled management and Boards of Directors on financial, operational and restructuring matters.

 

Selected experiences and engagements:

Provided dispute consulting and litigation support services in cash flow, accounting and operations for advertising industry liability suitute services;

 

Provided CEO/ CRO services in successfully developing turnaround strategy for retail operation with complex legal, tax, operating and cash flow issues;

 

Provided business model analysis, assessment, interim CFO, and restructuring processes for highly visible health care rehabilitation company, communicating and advising the Board on issues and developing alternative business models;

 

Counseled board of directors and provided leadership to the audit committee after discovery of a signficant embezzelment in human services organizations;

 

Interim CFO and CEO advisory services to 85 bed hopital and clinic, improving operating margins; created models and analyses to guage the impact of different strategic options;

 

Investigated modeling discrepancies for division of Fortune 100 financial services company and implemented process and control improvements in matrix environment; lead merger andacquisition due diligence efforts;

 

Negotiated debt reductions and forbearance for air charter/ FBO operation

 

Advised Board and lead turnaround of privately held restaurant group providing management, recruiting, cash flowcontract negotiations and operational assistance; developed and negotiated strategy for significant reduction in sales tax deficieny;

 

Counseled owners and lead restructuring process to stabilize, restructure and develop critical informational tools for product marketing company, including refinancing and real estate property divestitures;

 

Provided business plan assessments, pro forma analysis, management assessments, business model viability assessments for many banks in multiple industries;

 

Developed strategy and managed complex multi million dollar negotiations with national vendors for consumer product company where advertising company ceased operations;

 

CFO of recycling company providing strategic and financial turnaround leadership including labor negotiations successfully returning company to normalized operations;
